Mac OS on Sony PSP!
Filed in: Gadgets, Apple Add comments
Neisha Erin Stadelhofer has managed to run Mac OS System 7.5 on her Sony PSP. Not much of a use though, it’s just for the cool factor
This is what you need:
- A Mac Plus Boot ROM
- vMac (680×0 emulator)
- PSPBochs (x86 emulator for the Sony PSP)
- FreeDOS (free DOS clone)
Basically the Sony PSP runs PSPBochs, which runs FreeDOS, which runs vMac, which boots using the Boot ROM and loads up the OS image. With all the layers emulated emulation involved, you can just imagine how slow it is. Boot-up time alone is 4 hours.
Source and instructions on how to do it here.
